"Under Quarantine" part 02

Today there are 4.1 million cases of coronavirus worldwide and 1.3 million of those cases are in the US. I have been in quarantine for 60 days. Despite the fact that cases are still on the rise in the US, most states are “opening up” in some way, it seems largely for economic & political reasons.  I continue to battle with this new reality - especially with all the competing information and advice thrown our way. As a way to gain perspective and feel connected to others I asked friends and family to tell me what their lives look like right now. Their responses inspired part 2 of “Life Under Quarantine” for my show “Doc Talk” on KCHUNG radio at kchungradio.org. Click here to listen.

"Under Quarantine"

As I write this, there are 1.2 million cases of coronavirus worldwide and just over 330,000 cases in the US with the numbers rising steadily every day. The majority of us in America are living under quarantine, hoping to slow the spread of infection through social distancing. This largely means staying at home which has deep emotional, financial and psychological consequences for us all. I asked friends and family to contribute their personal stories, thoughts, feelings and observations from this unprecedented moment in time. This is a show for my “Doc Talk” series on KCHUNG radio at kchungradio.org - click here to listen.

"Social Animals"

On my most recent show of "Doc Talk" on KCHUNG Radio I spoke to Jonathan Green, director of the brand new documentary "Social Animals." Through the lens of three teenagers and a chorus of other youth, this film "peeks into the digital and real worlds of today’s image-focused adolescent, where followers, likes and comments mark success and self worth." The film premiered Friday March 9th at SXSW in competition! I had the privilege of working with Jonathon as one of the writers on the project. Listen to our conversation about the making of the doc here.

Women's March Documentary

On January 20, 2017 Hana Leshner and I went to Washington D.C. to film the Women's March. We are both deeply connected to feminism and the pursuit of women's equality, and we felt this was a historic moment to capture. Just after the march, we put together a teaser video for documentary grants - see here. I am not sure where this project is headed, or where this movement will go for that matter, but I'll keep you posted ;)
